Key player Vs. Rotherham

The upcoming Easter weekend sees Birmingham City face both Rotherham United and Burton Albion in games that the team must see as the ones to secure our Championship status for next season.

First up is the trip to already relegated Rotherham on Friday where Blues will be backed by a sell out away end of 2,600. Surely this is the time Gianfranco Zola`s men can pick up three points?

Rotherham have only pride to play for and Blues must go there with the intent to win the game and come back to Birmingham with maximum points.

A defeat could heap pressure on the Easter Monday fixture at home to Burton depending on other results so the incentive is there for Blues to do everything they can to win at the New York Stadium.

If we are to come away victorious, then I think that Lukas Jutkiewicz will be key to it.

Without his goals this season, Blues will be in a lot more serious trouble down at the bottom than we already are.

His presence at the top end of the pitch is enough to cause any team problems and I am looking towards him to help deliver the goods on Friday.

He’s netted six of the 15 league goals that Blues have scored under Zola and those goals have secured us some very valuable points.

If we can provide the service for him to have an impact on proceedings against The Millers, then I am sure that he will step up when we need him.

He’s not your out and out goalscorer but the form he’s been in this season gives me hope that he can be the man to fire us to safety and away from the bottom three.

On his day, he will run the opposition centre backs raged and coming up against Rotherham will only give him hope that he could grab a goal or two.

They have conceded a massive 93 goals over the course of the season which is far more than anyone else. Their back line is there to be exploited and Blues must do everything they can to play to Jutkiewicz`s strengths.

We have to head to Rotherham with confidence and with the hope that three points is the only thing that we are going to come away with.

Now is the time for Blues to step up and get those points that will be enough to fend away the worry of relegation that has been caused by this horrific downfall since the arrival of Zola.
