Key player Vs. Ipswich

The international break is over and the season run-in is upon us. Blues have eight huge games from now until the end of the season and they begin with Saturday’s trip to Ipswich Town.

Both sides sit five points above the drop zone and are level on 45 points so a win for either team could really put the other in danger.

I’m expecting Gianfranco Zola to stick with his five at the back system so, with that in mind, I’m looking towards Krystian Bielik as being the key player for Blues at Portman Road.

The on-loan Arsenal defender may only be 19-years-old but he has shown no sign of inexperience in his four appearances for Blues so far.

He`s been a real commanding figure at the heart of the Blues back line whenever he’s been called upon and I’ve been extremely impressed with him.

He’s also very comfortable on the ball and when bringing it out from the back which obviously comes from learning his trade at Arsenal for the last couple of years.

Along with the other two centre halves, it’s crucial that Bielik plays a key part in continuing the solid nature of a defence that has definitely improved over the last couple of games.

It was clear that we had to shore up at the back and the inclusion of Bielik into the side has immediately had an affect on us being a lot harder to break down and score against.

If he can produce another commanding performance from the back then that will go some way to Blues hopefully taking something from Saturday’s game.

Blues need to battle for every ball and fight from now until the end of the season to secure their Championship status and Bielik is a man who seems unfazed by being thrown in at the deep end.

Hopefully he can put in another impressive display against Ipswich and contribute to what we all hope will be a positive result for Zola`s men.
