Luke Turner picks out who he thinks will be important for Blues on Saturday…

The new season kicks off in just three days and it’s time for me to return with my pre-match suggestion of who will be key for Blues in the upcoming game.

Gary Rowett`s men face Cardiff at St Andrews on Saturday to open their campaign and it would be great to start the season off with a victory.

But, if we are to achieve that, then I believe that one player in particular will be key to it and will need to be on his best game.

That man is Diego Fabbrini. He has the job of filling the void left by Jon Toral and I have every faith in him that he can go out and show his worth.

The Italian is someone we are going to need to rely on throughout the season to provide that spark and bit of magic when it`s needed.

He has the chance to make that number 10 position his own and I feel that if he can find space in behind the Cardiff midfield, then he can really start to cause problems.

We all know that he has excellent ability on the ball so if he can just find that cutting pass or final finish, then it will only enhance our chances of winning the game.

He scored a couple of goals in pre-season and looked bright in the minutes he played. If he can replicate that on Saturday, then he can certainly have a big say in the outcome of the match.
