Luke Turner picks a key player for Saturday’s game…

The latest international break is over and we can now all look towards the visit of Bristol City to St Andrews this Saturday.

Lee Johnson`s side currently sit two places and just one point behind Blues in 9th position so they will be looking for a win that could potentially put them into the play-offs places.

If Blues are to defeat The Robins and possibly even jump into the play-offs themselves then I think that Stephen Gleeson will be key to it.

Bristol City are a good side, don’t get me wrong, and they’ve shown that they could be potential top six contenders come the end of the season but these are the games Blues need to be winning.

I feel that, with the calming influence of Gleeson in the middle, then Blues can control the game and he can be the dictator in front of the back four.

With Blues being the home side, the emphasis will be on us to make things happen and the possession of the ball will need to be used wisely.

Gleeson is a man with great passing range so if we can use him as the base and build forwards, then hopefully we can break through the lines and create opportunities.

He will also have a crucial role in helping to stop one of Bristol City`s main men, Lee Tomlin.

He will be looking to pick up space, in pockets between our defence and midfield so Gleeson must be aware of his presence and keep his impact to a minimum.

It should be another tough test for Blues, as every game in the Championship usually is but, with the players we have and the form some players are in, I believe we have enough to claim another three points.
