The club released the club’s new home kit on Friday, and reaction to the new shirt has been pretty mixed.
Adidas haven’t gone with a bespoke design, and have used one of their templates. The Lyon home kit for next season uses the exact same design. Our home shirt:

Fans on Twitter liked some of the new kit’s features, although they were hoping for something a bit more imaginative:
Best kit we’ve had in years, fair play to Adidas and Birmingham ????

Can’t wait to see Michael Morrison lift the sky bet championship trophy in this

I like it a lot. Can’t wait for custom kit next year. At least its something different.

It is was it is we either go with a Adidas and pick a catalogue kit or go with someone like cabrini and get a custom kit but risk not getting it till September. I like Adidas and as long as its Blue and White and has the ball and globe then it will always be ???? ???? ????

Looks decent ????????

Very disappointing!
— Derek Allen (@DerekAllen4) 22 June 2018
I think it looks really nice actually.

Verdict:
It is certainly better than some of our recent home shirts I think, but other than that, the lack of originality in the design is a bit disappointing.
I wasn’t surprised though as the kit idea has been doing the rounds on social media over the past few weeks.
Our kit manufacturer deal comes up for renewal at the end of the 2019/20Â season so we will have one more new kit design from them. Hopefully, next year’s kit will be a bit more inspiring.
