Blues manager Chris Hughton saw his side go down 1-0 at Crystal Palace on Monday night and said that he felt his men were unlucky to get nothing from the game.

A late header from Kagisho Dikgacoi separated the two sides after it had looked like keeper Boaz Myhill had pulled off a couple of good saves to earn City a point.

Myhill had stopped Mile Jedinak and then watched the woodwork come to his rescue to deny Paddy McCarthy.

At the other end of the field both Curtis Davies and Steven Caldwell put chances over the bar and they were made to pay for that in the 84th minute.

Hughton said: ‘They are always tight affairs down here, they don’t give much away, ut in the last 20 minutes I still thought we would get a draw at least. It could have gone either way.

‘We have gone through a lot of games in a short period of time, but these are the things we need to get on with.

‘Over the 90 minutes I thought we deserved to get more out of the game. But we didn’t defend their opportunity well enough.’
