Help our neighbours during their time of need

Football clubs belong to a community and its supporters. Following your team is a religion to most football fans – the faith and loyalty is undying.

However, to owners, it`s a business. And because of this ethos, we`re seeing a growing number of football clubs being run into the ground without a care in the world. Us Bluenoses have witnessed it first-hand. It has taken our club the best part of half-a-decade to squeeze out the other side of the long, dark, tunnel.

Regardless of my lifelong allegiance to Birmingham City, I would never wish to see a football club go under. Not even Aston Villa.

The Coventry Telegraph hit the nail on the head recently with their article asking for signatures on their petition calling for Coventry City`s owners to put the club up for sale. It reads: “We believe that the owners of Coventry City have failed the fans during their time in charge of the club. Attendances, revenues and league positions have all declined during Sisu`s tenure. After nine years of failure, it is time for the owners to put the club up for sale so someone can provide the investment and know how needed to take this once-proud club out of decline and put it back on the right course again.”

So, I ask fellow Bluenoses to copy and paste the the link below into your browser and help our neighbours in their time of need. I know that Blues fans would have appreciated the help when our own club was in the mire.

Let`s help put football back in the hands of the community. Every signature counts.
