Kyle McFarlane scored a hat-trick at the weekend for the under 23s in the 4-2 win over Colchester United.

The striker is now 21 years of age and was the development squad’s top goalscorer last campaign. He started this season off pretty well too with four goals in three appearances so far.

With Isaac Vassell’s injury setback, it could be the perfect time for the forward to be given some chances off the bench. It’s slightly frustrating that we are out of the Carabao Cup as it would have been a good shout to see how he performs in that competition.
