Greg Stewart has said he has found it tough being left out of the club’s senior squad over the last few weeks.
The Scot was asked to train with the youngsters by Garry Monk after his return from his loan spell with Aberdeen, but he has now completed a loan move to Kilmarnock.
Speaking to his new club’s website, he said:
“It has been a pretty long summer training with young boys at Birmingham for the last six weeks, it’s not been easy – but it is what it is.”
Fans on Twitter had various things to say about the 28-year-old’s departure:
his career is like a yoyo

One fan didn’t think he was given a chance:
Best of luck to him didn’t really get the chance to stamp his mark

Sometimes it is just the case of not being the right fit. Stewart could have been given more opportunities, but his limited impact on loan at Aberdeen probably made up Monk’s mind on his future.
Hopefully, he can kickstart his career back in Scotland. We do have an option to recall him in January, but if that isn’t used, he will likely leave the club when his contract expires next summer.
