Four youngsters that would benefit from a loan move

Over the past few weeks, there has only really been talk of players coming into Birmingham City, rather than those who could potentially walk out of the door this summer.

Well, in the last 10 days, Blues boss Gary Rowett admitted that some of the youth players, mainly in the development squad, could head out on loan in order to gain some first team experience.

Those quotes from the manager got me thinking, which youngsters would benefit from a short spell away from the club in order to develop their potential even further?

Down below are four players who I think would do well away from Blues, playing at either League One level or very high League Two level.

1. KOBY ARTHUR.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder doesn’t really seem like he is ready for Championship football as of yet in my opinion and I personally don’t think that he will be in Rowett’s plans this season.

Therefore, I believe that the Ghanaian youngster would do better if he was playing regular football away from Blues because he would be getting stronger and stronger as well as picking up some much needed competitive minutes on the football pitch.

I believe that Rowett will look at sending Arthur out on loan because although it does him good to play in Richard Beale’s under 21’s squad, it just isn’t the same as playing against men week in, week out.

2. ALEX JONES.

For me, Jones is one of those players who has the potential to be a top striker in the Championship but he hasn’t stepped up just yet which is a little disappointing in my eyes.

Last year, he was messed around with transfers, travelling to New Zealand only for the move to fall through, and I think that has really stopped him developing much further.

Personally, I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Blues to send Jones out on loan to a League One club because he certainly has the goal scoring pedigree but I don’t think he is ready to perform in the Sky Bet Championship just yet.

3. NICOLAI BROCK-MADSEN.

This is one that I am sure most Blues fans are calling out for. The Dane cost the club £400,000 last summer but he is yet to repay a single penny of that, and I know it is harsh to criticise him when he hasn’t played that much but when he has played, he really hasn’t taken his chance.

Although I think he could progress into being a very robust and powerful striker, he isn’t anywhere near the level he needs to be at this moment in time which is why I think Rowett should bite the bullet and see if clubs in the third and fourth tier want to take the striker on loan.

I know Blues have a striker shortage at the moment but lets be honest, Brock-Madsen hasn’t really been the striker we needed since he arrived here last summer.

4. CHARLEE ADAMS.

This was a tough one because I couldn’t decide between Adams or Reece Brown but for me, I think Brown is more ready for the tests that lie ahead next season in the Championship compared to Adams.

Yes, Adams played on the final day of the season against Cardiff City away from home, but I am still unsure as to whether or not he is the full package.

Personally, if I was Rowett, I would look at the pair of them and say who has the better qualities? Who would gain more from spending time out on loan somewhere? And for me out of the two of them it has to be Adams, but he needs to go to a high end League One side.

Out of the four players that I have mentioned, I think Brock-Madsen or Arthur are the most likely to leave the club on a loan deal, whether that be for the season or until January because I believe they will be the ones to gain the most from time away from the club.

Blues fans, which of the four players do you think would benefit more from a loan move into a lower division? Let is know in the comment section down below!
