I can’t believe this! A report in the Mail, by Colin Tattum, says that co-owner David Sullivan visited the Blues Wast Hills training group for the first time in his 13 years at the club?

13 years and he’s not been to the training ground? THIRTEEN YEARS?

Gold, who took his kids with him, told the Mail: ‘It was an enjoyable day there. I was quite impressed by what went on, there’s a very professional set-up.’

‘The manager, players and coaches were all very focused and everyone was very fit. If it wasn’t for the distance from where I live I’d be there twice a week, but the travelling kills you. I don’t think me going to the training ground had any impact, I’m not deluding myself that my presence got more out of people or keeps them on their toes.’

He says he wasn’t checking up, explaining ‘It was more educational for me, and it was a chance to take the boys to watch the team train. Mikael Forssell showed them a few tricks, which they loved.’

He has also given the squad some great ammunition to take the mickey out of David Dunn as he said the player ‘looked fantastic, like a little Gladiator.’
