Birmingham City have confirmed they will work with West Midlands Police and Wolverhampton Wanderers to identify troublemakers from the derby match yesterday.

A small section of the Birmingham fans were too busy conflicting with Wolves fans to observe the minutes silence, they were booed by the crowd until they were quiet. The rest of the minutes silence proceeded without incident.

At the final Whilst the fans flared up again with both sets of fans throwing items into the respective crowds. It also appears that an orange flare was released by a member of the crowd.

The police are now seeking to find culprit fans and prosecute the troublemakers. A spokesman from Wolves said “The club are aware of a number of issues between sections of rival supporters at Saturday`s Wolves versus Birmingham City fixture.

“Wolves will assist West Midlands Police wherever possible and will help them to identify any potential offenders, including providing any relevant CCTV footage.”

A statement from BCFC said “The club was disappointed that a small minority attempted to disrupt the minute`s silence before today`s match at Molineux.

“However, it is pleasing that the vast majority of both sets of supporters ensured that this incident didn`t overshadow what was a fitting tribute to our fallen heroes.”

I can only imagine that the minutes silence was disrupted due to tensions between the fans and not in disrespect of the fallen men and woman that gave their days so that we may enjoy our lives in a time of home land peace.

Lets home the next time these teams meet the necessary fans are confined to watching it on TV.
