Birmingham City defender Cheick Keita looks set to finalise a move to Serie A outfit Bologna.

The two clubs are said to have agreed a fee which would see the 21-year-old depart St. Andrew’s on a permanant basis rather than loan.

Keita only arrived at Blues in January, when former boss Gianfranco Zola signed him from Virtus Entella.

He has made just one appearance so far this season, when he came on as a substitute in the opening day defeat at Ipswich – he picked up an injury that day and hasn’t played since.

  • An exiting prospect and would in my opinion have increased in value over the next few years, but obviously harry didn’t see him fitting in or there was something else going on with Keita maybe not being settled. If we hadn’t signed good alternatives there would be plenty to question about this deal, but as its open shopping day for Harry today I doubt many will even notice he has gone.

  • Awful bit of business. An exciting talent. Pacy and skillful. With our lack of left sided players Harry should’ve played him at left wing. Will we even get our money back? When the Arsenal loanee or Maghoma picks up an injury we don’t have many options.
