A week certainly is a long time in football.
Having gone into the game, not exactly the most popular man in B9, I think it’s fair to say that Pep Clotet and the team’s performance on Friday has certainly done enough to earn some breathing space when it comes to the comments of the fans. Well, for a couple of weeks at least.
The Blues boss posted a message on his Twitter account after the game praising the team’s performance, and there were a number of fans who were quick to join in, not just praising the team but also the manager himself for what he was able to produce.
This is what I want to be seeing!!! Entertain us and we’ll back the team….

Hopefully this is the start of something and that we don’t look back from this performance! Set that as the standard and we can go places

You will have a few bumps in the road, keep the positivity going and any negativity turn it to the positive KRO Pep

Was the right decision to keep the faith with the formation and more or less the line up from the Wigan game despite the loss, credit to you for that. We have some exciting talent in the squad!

I’d enjoy all these words of thanks while I could if I were you Pep, one more bad result and the boo boys are probably going to find themselves back hounding you once more.
What I will say to the fans though, is surely this is the kind of performance that makes you think the Blues are going to be O.K this season? Maybe let’s not be so quick to judge what’s going on in the future and let things play out a little longer.
