Birmingham City manager Lee Clark was disappointed that his side had been knocked out of the FA Cup by Swansea at the weekend, but praised Swans substitute Wilfried Bony.

Bony came onto the field and turned the game around in superfast time, just has Blues fans were thinking that they could be reaching the fifth round of the competition.

Earlier in the game, Lee Novak headed n cross from Paul Caddis to set Blues on their way and it was beginning to look like that goal would be enough to knock the Swans out of another cup competition after sending them crashing out of the Capital One cup in September.

But on came Bony and his first-time shot from Roland Lemar’s centre levelled the scores, before he chipped Blues keeper Colin Doyle to send the Swans through.

Clark told the BBC after the game: ‘Bony is in very good form at the highest level, I watched him over the last few games and he looked very in-form.

‘You know you have that to contend with if you get in front.

‘His first goal was very good but the second goal we could have done more to prevent.

‘You always need that second goal against a Premier League team especially with their fire power, we had chances, but we weren’t able to take them.’

Swansea now go into round five and face Everton in February while Blues return to the bread and butter of the league and face Leicester City at St Andrews on Tuesday night.
