Che Adams is adamant that Blues can be in the promotion shake-up in May. The 20 year-old attacker was speaking in an exclusive interview with The Sun’s Tom Barclay.

Adams said- ‘Everyone plays football to play at the highest level ? and that`s something I hope to do with Birmingham this season. If not, then we`ll go again next season. Everyone wants to play in the Premier League ? that`s definitely my aim.”

The £1.5m signing from Sheffield United has scored twice in 13 appearances for Blues so far but has been deployed in three different positions. But it was as a striker that he made his name at Bramall Lane scoring seven in his first 13 before the death of his father.

Adams then began to tail off as he struggled to come to terms with his father’s passing and was taken out of the spotlight by former Blades manager Nigel Adkins.

His form soon returned though and Blues were among the host of clubs watching his progress and eventually opted to bring him to St. Andrews.
