Alex McLeish has revealed talks have been going ahead between Birmingham and Rangers meaning that the attempt to bring the striker to St Andrews could be back on.

Blues agreed a fee with Rangers last week, believed to be in the region of £3.75million, but personal terms proved to be the stumbling block stalled due to both parties being some way apart.

McLeish later said that the deal was finished with, but Blues have again spoken to Boyd and his agent, Mark Donaghy.

‘I’m aware that they have talked to Karren (Brady) again so it’s not dead until it’s dead, if you know what I mean,’ McLeish told the Birmingham Mail.

‘But there are plans to do something else, so we will have to wait and see what happens.

Brady added: ‘There’s not another club in the Championship, even some in the Premier League, who could offer what we have.

‘It’s a good deal more than he’s paid at Rangers, with big benefits too if we’re promoted.’
