Blues Trust Fight to have St Andrews Listed

Members of the Blues Supporters trust have bid to the council to have the ground listed as a community interest.

The move would see the ground safeguarded from a sale or potential ‘redevelopment` and subject to review by the council. The application is made possible under the Localism Act 2011 and is more than likely a direct result of the owners using the ground as security for HSBC for a bank loan.

Please note the amount owed on said loan is very low and the value of the asset out-weighs it by miles, meaning it is very unlikely that HSBC would sell the ground should they take ownership of it.

Oxford Supporters Trust have already seen a victory in similar fashion and now Blues, Liverpool and Manchester United fans are following suit.

The ground has been our home since 1906 and with the state of the club at the moment, its assets are everything and more. I could not be happier if this goes through.

Your thoughts? is a ground fundamental to a club existing? Leave your responses below!
