Over the last week or so Birmingham City have been knocked back in their attempts to sign at least three of their transfer targets.

Premier League side Everton appear to have won the race for young forward Henry Onyekuru. French team Lyon look like the possible destination for Dijon striker Lois Diony. And reports were circulating that Blues had had their initial approach for Marc Roberts rejected.

Following the disappointment of the two attacking options, as always it got me thinking, if Blues and Harry Redknapp are willing to spend a considerable amount of money on a striker then there must be somebody in the top flight who they could target.

I am by no means saying that the club will make a move for this Everton striker but I do believe that he is somebody that the club should consider.

Oumar Niasse enjoyed a loan spell with Hull City last season scoring five goals in 19 appearances for the Tigers.

The spell unfortunately put a relegation on the 27-year-old’s football CV but could a move to Blues potentially put a promotion on his CV?

With Redknapp seemingly looking at a higher calibre of player, somebody like Niasse who will once again be short of first team chances at his parent club could well be an option for a team like Blues who want to sign a striker who would clearly do well in the Championship.

Valued at around £8 million, the Everton striker could well be the forward that Birmingham City are looking for and even though he is the same sort of build as Lukas Jutkiewicz, he offers more in front of goal in my opinion.

Although his contract runs until July 2020, the Toffees could well be looking to cut their losses on the striker and move him on this summer and I personally believe that he could well be the striker that Blues are looking for.

Blues fans, do you think somebody like Oumar Niasse should be on our shopping list this summer? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
