Steve Spooner’s side lose again, this time to Coventry City.

A defensive mistake mid way through the first half cost the Blues, seeing them drop points yet again.

Coventry City deserve huge credit for how they played the game. They kept the tempo high and defended resolutely throughout the entire match. One goal was enough, as Birmingham City never really looked like scoring, despite a lot of pressure towards the latter stages.

The official Birmingham City Site quoted Spooner as saying: ‘We conceded the goal as a result of a mistake. We upped our game in the remainder of the half and did a bit better, but in the second-half we never looked like we were going to score.

“I couldn’t fault the effort, but we were poor in our decision making, we lacked creativity and intensity and everything was too slow.”

  • These games are important, not in league progression, however in developing our young talent.Over the years we have developed so many young players, coached them, made them into great professionals only then to loose them on the cheap.TTA probably won’t be around for long, neither will our manager,at best we can hope for two seasons out of him.Whoever follows, whoever buys the club I hope we have seen those dark days of selling our prized young players as over.
All of the West Midlands Club’s have wealthy owners,if TTA are to move on I just hope it’s not going to be another Carson Yeung/Kumar Brothers episode.
