Former Liverpool defender Gregory Vignal has been signed by Birmingham City after impressing Alex McLeish while on trial.
With David Murphy being out injured, Blues have a problem with the left back spot which is why the manager has acted to fill the void.
Vignal arrives at St Andrews on a twelve month contract with the option of another year should the club decide to take it.
And it`s not the first time Vignal has worked under McLeish; the Frenchman was at Rangers when the Blues boss was in charge there.
‘He’s a good athlete, he’s mobile and he’s strong and aggressive,’ McLeish told the club’s official website.
‘He played a season with me at Rangers when we won the league and it was a very successful campaign for him then, so I know what Greg can bring us.
‘I’ve kept in touch with him and his family and I know he’s been bursting over the last couple of years to get back to the top league.’
