Ipswich have given former Birmingham man another chance at the Championship after handing him a short term deal at the club.

Darren Ambrose will play for Ipswich at Portman Road at least until January after Mick McCarthy signed him to strengthen their midfield.

This will be the third time the player has joined the club and he has declared that he has unfinished business there.

Ambrose started his career at Ipswich before moving to Newcastle for a then £1 million in 2003. He has since then played for Charlton, Crystal Palace, Birmingham and Greek outfit Apollon Smyrni. So he probably has a decent tan.

The player spent a lot of his time at Birmingham in the treatment room, picking up his wages and making next to no appearances. He appeared just 7 times whilst in the Midlands.
