Che Adams put in a Man of the Match display as Blues drew 0-0 with Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with Gianfranco Zola still awaiting that elusive first win as manager.

When we signed Adams from Sheffield United in the summer, I read comments from their fans that suggested that Adams could be very hit and miss but does have the potential to be something special.

I would definitely say that, so far, we have seen someone that has the ability but his decision making lets him down in some areas of the game.

He has made a great impact off the bench, particular under Gary Rowett and it now looks like he has found a spot in Zola`s team.

There have been question marks over what Adams` best position is and he has played all along the front line for Blues.

However, when he is played in that left wing position, he seems to prosper. His pace and power are a huge asset to him and they allow him to cause the full back all kinds of problems.

Blues aren’t a side blessed with pace but, when Adams puts on the back burners, there is no stopping him and he is excellent at knocking it past the defender and getting round him.

That’s something Blues have been missing recently and the raw talent that Adams shows is really great to watch.

At the tender age of 20, Adams is still learning and his performance on Saturday was extremely encouraging. He was one of the only players that looked to get beyond their defence and his instincts immediately sent him forward.

Every time he got on the ball it looks like something positive was going to happen and he really took the game by its horns, looking to get something going for Blues.

If he continues to perform like that for Blues then I have no doubt that he will become a very important players for us and the goals and assists should follow.

He is perfect for the system that Zola is currently playing and Adams is showing why Blues took the gamble and invested in him because, at times, he does look the real deal.
