Luke Turner on Rowett’s striker search…
I’ve seen a lot of concern with Blues fans who are unhappy that Gary Rowett hasn’t yet brought in a striker with the start of the new season edging closer.
My response to those people would be that, of course it’s fair enough to be concerned, but we’ve got to have the faith in Rowett that he will bring the right players into the club.
If it takes to the end of the transfer window to get the right player in then sobeit. It’s refreshing that we have someone who won’t go out and bring players in for the sake of it.
Rowett is looking for players who will improve the squad. If he doesn’t think that some of his targets are good enough then he won’t push it any further and why should he?
No disrespect to Barnsley but there must be a reason behind Tom Bradshaw joining them and not Blues or another club aiming high. Rowett clearly felt that he didn’t fit the bill so we move on.
The player who comes in must fit the system and play the way Rowett wants to so it`s not as simple as just picking a target and signing them.
I’ve got every confidence in Rowett that he will go out and sign that striker we`re all hoping for. He`ll bide his time waiting for the right moment and I think you’ll thank him when that move happens.
