Gianfranco Zola could make left-back Roberto Crivelli his first signing at Blues manager.

The former Juventus youth product currently plays for Frosinone in Italy’s second tier, Serie B, where he has made 54 league appearances since signing in 2013.

Crivelli could be available for a reduced fee as his contract expires in June.

Frosinone are currently joint second in Serie B, two points  behind leaders Verona.

It’s early days in Zola’s Blues reign but plans are being put in place to strengthen the squad. The left side of the defence has been earmarked by Zola as an area of weakness, as it was by predecessor Gary Rowett, with Jonathan Grounds the only recognised left back after injury put an end to loanee Rhoys Wiggins’ short spell at St. Andrews during the second city derby back in October.
