Gianfranco Zola has spoke of his gratitude towards the Birmingham City board for the faith shown in him and of his belief that results will improve.

Speaking to, the Italian said- ‘It is a very pressurised moment for all of us because of the results we have had. But the Club has shown very clearly that`s what their intention is, where we are going to. They have not appreciated the results, but they have appreciated the way the work has been done, the way the team is playing and what is ahead in the future. That is good for me and I will continue to improve as much as I can.”

Ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Rotherham which has been branded a must win game, Zola said- ‘I came here obviously with the intention and promise that I was going to improve those results, so far it hasn`t been the case and if the Club sticks with me despite that it means they value my work and they are convinced we will produce results in the future – and I truly believe that we will do that.”

He continued- ‘As a coach I have to look at the results and the work I am doing also. I am one hundred per cent sure that by this work, we will get the results. And if I am wrong I will pay the consequences, no doubt about that.”
