It’s not the signing people were hoping for, but at least it’s one less thing to worry about.
Connal Trueman yesterday signed a three-year extension at St Andrew’s, and whilst he hasn’t made that many appearances for the club in his time in B9 so far, there’s hope amongst the Birmingham faithful that he can stake a claim to the number one jersey pretty soon.
The goalkeeping situation at the club isn’t the best for Trueman at the moment either, David Stockdale and Lee Camp are fighting it out for the number one spot, and Mohamed Ramos on the verge of signing from Real Madrid.
It looks as if Trueman isn’t part of Pep Clotet’s immediate plans this season, and there have been some suggestions that he will be sent out on loan to get some experience.
Whilst they may have to wait some time before the 23-year-old finds his way into the Birmingham first team, it looks as if the majority of Blues fans are just happy to see him locked down for the next couple of years.
You deserve it son ????????????????????

Really want you to push for the #1 position. It’s yours for the taking! In my opinion, you should have been given it last year #BCFC #KRO

Definitely can’t disagree with that, he played very well against norwich on the opening day of the season but I cant see him getting a look in with Camp and Stockdale also in the running

Although there were two fans who think he needs just a little bit more development before he can take a serious run at being the first choice keeper for the Blues.
That’s ok, but he’s 23 and he’s only made 2 professional appearances, 100% needs to be loaned out to give him game time.
