Carson Yeung will have a bail hearing on 16 December to put forward a case that he should be freed until his appeal his heard sometime next year.

The former President of Birmingha City Football Club is currently in prison on a charge of money laundering following a lengthy trial process last year.

In reality Carson could be realised on the day, should he be able to show that he is likely to overturn his conviction. Based on a recent decision in Hong Kong, there is a new interpretive approach taken to the law that was used to convict Mr Yeung. So he may well be granted bail.

Carson Yeung, hairdresser turned millionaire, bought Birmingham in 2009 and went on until his spell was ended by criminal charges in 2011.

Now it would seem that he has a real chance of eventually overturning his conviction, which would green light a return to his former roles at BIHL and BCFC.

It is worth noting that Yeung has been trying to encourage a sale, through Peter Pannu, whilst in prison. So even if Yeung can return to Birmingham, he apparently wants to sell up.
