The Sun are reporting that we are interested in signing Bournemouth forward Lewis Grabban. However, it seems Nottingham Forest are currently leading the race for the 30-year-old.
Talks have reportedly taken place between the player and the Reds, with the player commanding a £5m transfer fee.
Despite trailing in the race to sign the forward, fans on Twitter were mostly positive about the club’s pursuit of Grabban:
5m would be a steal in my eyes, proven goal scorer at this level & i think he was only 1 goal off from getting top goal scorer in the championship last year.

Would probably prefer Waghorn or one of the Newcastle strikers on loan but would still be a decent signing

Would take, thought he’d be out of our price range tbh?

Verdict:
Personally, I am in two minds about this one. At 30 years of age, the money that Bournemouth are demanding for the player is very high, but at the same time, he scored 20 goals in the Championship last season.
There are not many players on the market who are proven goalscorers at this level, and we certainly need to improve on the number of goals we scored last season. Neither Che Adams nor Lukas Jutkiewicz are unlikely to get 20 goals based on past records so we will need to shell out to add goals to the team.
