Birmingham City have performed valiantly under the guidance of Garry Monk this season, who has steadied the ship at St. Andrew’s after a turbulent few years.
Sat ninth in the standings and four points off the playoff spots, there is every chance that the Blues could fight for a spot in the top-six this season and potentially even as far as challenging for a return to the Premier League.
That is a huge improvement upon the same stage last season, where Birmingham spent the majority of the campaign hovering around the relegation zone under Steve Cotterill – who was eventually sacked in March after just five months in the job and five consecutive defeats.
Despite not being at the club for long, Cotterill still managed to leave a negative impression in the minds of Blues supporters and one fan took the opportunity to remember some classic quotes from the unpopular manager.
We have gathered some of the best reactions to the post below.
At least Zola had us playing good football and Clarke actually seemed to care about the club. Cotterill was a disgrace

After losing 2-0 at Boro with Assombalonga scoring the goals.
“If Assombalonga isn’t playing for them, we draw that 0-0”
After losing 0-1 at home to Wolves without a shot on target
“The stats say we didn’t have a shot on target, but what they don’t say is we had shots blocked”
