I don’t think this is quite what they were after, but always interesting to see the responses.

Birmingham City take on Middlesbrough tomorrow night in the Championship, and the club thought they’d so something to get fans in the mood.

The Blues’ Twitter account posted a Throwback Thursday showing off goals from a previous time we beat Boro at St Andrew’s, back in 2012.

Taking a look at the first goal, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Lukas Jutkiewicz pull off a similar finish, given his aerial prowess.

However, I’m not sure this is the kind of response that the club were looking for.

Rather than focusing on the game and the memories of what happened on the pitch, the majority seemed to be more concerned with who was in the dugout that day, Chris Hughton.

Hughton had a fine record in B9, and is currently out of a job, so given the dissent that has been growing around Pep Clotet, and the desire they showed for former boss to Garry Monk to return recently, it shouldn’t really come as a surprise for them to take this line of thought, but it is still rather weird to focus on that rather than the goals on show.
