28-year-old defender Harlee Dean has been a very solid performer at Championship level for City, and previous club Brentford, for many seasons now, though some fans have concerns over his form this campaign.

City captain Dean has played every minute of league action for his side so far this season, and though his commitment has remained unquestioned, some Blues fans have criticised his defensive performances as a whole in recent weeks.

City have had a mixed start to the 2019/20 season and currently sit in mid-table. Though after a recent poor run of three straight defeats, manager Pep Clotet and some senior players, notably Dean and goalkeeper Lee Camp, felt the wrath of some supporters, unhappy with their performance.

It’s not been exclusive criticism of Harlee Dean from City fans. His attitude and defensive desire is still very much appreciated by large sections of Blues fans. There are those though, that feel Dean should be performing better as he reaches what should be the peak years of his career. Reaction on Twitter has been a little mixed recently, here’s a selection of what Blues fans have been saying about their skipper:

Some supporters feel Dean’s defending has cost his side dear this season, while others are not sure he’s the captain they’re looking for at present.

Blues fans feel he’s been underperforming for a long time now and should be left out of the starting line-up, while others feel he’s just become the scapegoat figure at the club recently.

  • What on earth is this continual phrase ‘City Fans’ about. No BCFC supporter ever calls our team City Fans. Too much watching Man.City Mr.Kelly.

  • Dean hasn’t been great this season. I would’ve given the armband to Juke myself. However who would replace him if he was dropped.

  • Blues fans have to say the unsayable. Harlee needs a rest. Since assuming the captaincy his performances have been lacking in confidence to downright nervous.
Juky is premier League in the air and League 2 on the ground. He is awkward in possession lacks pace and mobility.

  • This is just a bad site with bad posts written by nun blues fans with zero knowledge.

They have to scour Twitter find negative reaction and copy paste it here.

They do know research it’s not journalism. They have no passion because they do not support our club. It’s a crap site written by crap people Spreading negatives.

It used to be a decent site to get news.
News that you could read in depth that actually meant something but now it’s gone right down hill.

    • Way Cool Blue…..Just because YOU don’t agree with them it doesn’t make them bad posts or that the authors are not Blues fans. Quit looking through rose tinted glasses.

  • Your right there Way cool

It used to be one of the first with the news, now it just looks for negativity.

I think it was this site that told us John Terry was 100% coming to Blues a couple of years ago.

Also I think Roberts has been decent and Juke’s ok on the ground to be fair to him.

  • Roberts is OK but still prone to mistakes, he was OK against Middlesborough basically because they posed very little threat to us so I would get Barjami on the Bench asap and give him some game time as sub to start with because he is good, would make a great ball paying defensive duo along side Clarke Salter. Must agree Juke is A1 in the air but struggles on the floor…..cant see him repeating last years heroics in goals scored and not expecting Gimenez to contribute many either so we need plenty of goals from midfield and hopefully Bailey
