“Woeful this season” – Blues man not impressing some supporters

|

28-year-old defender Harlee Dean has been a very solid performer at Championship level for City, and previous club Brentford, for many seasons now, though some fans have concerns over his form this campaign.

City captain Dean has played every minute of league action for his side so far this season, and though his commitment has remained unquestioned, some Blues fans have criticised his defensive performances as a whole in recent weeks.

City have had a mixed start to the 2019/20 season and currently sit in mid-table. Though after a recent poor run of three straight defeats, manager Pep Clotet and some senior players, notably Dean and goalkeeper Lee Camp, felt the wrath of some supporters, unhappy with their performance.

It’s not been exclusive criticism of Harlee Dean from City fans. His attitude and defensive desire is still very much appreciated by large sections of Blues fans. There are those though, that feel Dean should be performing better as he reaches what should be the peak years of his career. Reaction on Twitter has been a little mixed recently, here’s a selection of what Blues fans have been saying about their skipper:

Some supporters feel Dean’s defending has cost his side dear this season, while others are not sure he’s the captain they’re looking for at present.

Blues fans feel he’s been underperforming for a long time now and should be left out of the starting line-up, while others feel he’s just become the scapegoat figure at the club recently.
