According to reports in the Daily Mail, Birmingham City winger David Cotterill has a £1.1 million buyout clause in his contract which is quickly alerting other Sky Bet Championship clubs.

In their report, they state that they believe there is interest in the winger, who is currently away with the Wales squad in France taking part in Euro 2016, from more than one club and with his relatively low buyout clause, he could be a bargain for any side.

The 28-year-old right sided winger was influential in eight of Blues’ last nine goals at the end of the 2015/16 championship campaign and it would be a major blow for boss Gary Rowett if Cotterill left the club this summer.

Last week, Rowett highlighted that he hoped Cotterill would cover himself in glory whilst away on international duty because he wants his players to put themselves out there, but deep down, we think Gary is praying that Cotterill remains in his squad for the upcoming season.

Just after the season had finished, the former Doncaster Rovers winger was reportedly subject to interest from Reading but they were rejected with their initial enquiry and it is believed that any other clubs who come sniffing around him will have the same response.
