Wigan Athletic’s assistant manager Chris Hutchings has admitted that they are interested in signing Birmingham City striker Emile Heskey.
Hutchings told Manchester Evening News: ‘We are interested in Heskey and we plan to be very active in the transfer market over the coming weeks.’ Adding ‘There’s a lot of paper talk right now but I’m sure quite a lot of new faces will be here, come the start of the new season. We have people at the World Cup looking at players, we have targets in mind and we’re going to be very busy.’
Not sure he should be talking about a player who is contracted to another club, whether they are interested in putting a bid in or not? Still, if they want to match the £5million price tag the board have apparently put on Heskey, who scored just four goals last season, I’m sure we won’t mind?
