A top level performance yielded just one point for Blues because the lack of goal power that has p[lagued them all season.

In spite of long periods of domination Blues could not find away through a determined Wigan back line. Three times Tebily, Blues ‘new’ full back had headers cleared of the line when goal bound.

Sutton who looked every bit an unfit 30 something did get in a shot from the edge of the box which was deflected just wide.

Jarosik had the ball in the net only to be ruled incorrectly offside.

Wigan took the lead when Ref Webb gave a foul against Sadler when he had claerly won the ball fairly. This was the only mistake Webb made in an other wise outstanding display.

The free kick was deflected by Johnson to the far side of the box and returned for
Johansson (49) to loop a header in to the net.

Blues sent on Forssell and Dunn which changed the game. Dunne was back to his superb best as his neat passes found their mark.

A good build up with Sadler finding Heskey on the left. Heskey left Scharner for dead and whipped in a cross which Dunn turned over the line.

Blues point kept them just out of the drop zone and have an anxious wait as Pompey have two games at home (Arsenal & Middlesbro)while Baggies go to the Hall of Memory tommorrow. Blues then walk out at Vile park for their most important visit since taking the League cup their in 1963
