Young midfielder Liam Truslove has been with the club since the age of ten and joined the Blues academy from local side Cadbury Athletic. He is perhaps one of the less talked about youngsters at the club with the likes of Demarai Gray, Reece Brown and Koby Arthur all coming through the academy within Liam’s age group.

He agreed to signed his first professional contract on his 17th Birthday, showing that former manager Lee Clark had great belief in the midfielder, snapping him up before the likes of Brown and Gray. Since then, he has been a constant in the U21 side scoring regular and important goals for them. Liam has even been compared to England legend Frank Lampard due to his incredible knack of finding the net.

At the end of last season, Gary Rowett took up the option to extend Truslove’s stay with the club until the end of 2016. Many may feel he has real potential to shine through at Blues. His unique attacking qualities could be something us fans have been missing for years, Goal scoring midfielders are hard to come by, and in Liam, Blues have got one ready made.

At the end of last season, Truslove had his first taste of senior mens football in a brief spell at Conference North side Leamington. Truslove made just one appearance for the Warwickshire outfit before an injury forced an end to his spell.

I was also very excited to see Truslove in one of the two match day squads for today’s Games. He will travel to Northampton Town with the likes of captain Paul Robinson and fellow academy graduate Mitch Hancox. Although it’s likely Truslove will start as a substitute, it would be very good if Truslove could be given a chance to shine in a first team shirt.

Could Truslove make his first team debut tonight?
