Where Next for Blues Defender

Neal Eardley has returned early form his loan spell at Leyton Orient after only making one league appearance for the team.

Was he sent back or recalled? most likely he has returned due to not impressing the management at the League One Club. Eardley is not match fit and only managed one appearance in a league defeat.

The Welsh right back asked for a loan move in order to get some playing time and it may be best if another switch is located for him.

Paul Caddis is currently going well at right back and is certainly the favorite to remain in the position until any further signings. I don’t see how Eardley will be able to play for Blues in a first team capacity any time soon.

Based on the reaction the news got on our Twitter page, that is not something Birmingham fans want to see. Plenty of people expressed their dislike for the Welshman being back at Blues (not in a nasty way).

Eardley needs to be sent somewhere that desperately needs a right back, a club that will welcome him and make him feel comfortable in their first team. He clearly can’t cut it competing for a place at the moment, maybe that is a confidence thing.

Birmingham take on Millwall this weekend, I don’t suspect Eardley will be involved. Rowett is most likely attempting to sort him out another loan deal.
