Jake Jervis is yet another academy product who failed to make the grade at Birmingham City. As a result, Jervis had many loan spells away from St Andrews, all with reasonable success but not quite enough to break into the Blues first team as a regular. Jervis made his Blues debut in January 2010 in an FA Cup tie away at Everton. Much was expected of the young striker but in the next three years with the club, Jervis made just four more appearances and he was eventually sold to Turkish side Elazigspor after a reported falling out with the then Blues manager Lee Clark.

Jervis had a total of eight loan spells whilst on the books at St Andrews and as mentioned previously all with reasonable success. Jervis made a total of 59 appearances scoring 14 goals for Hereford and Swindon in League 2 and Preston, Portsmouth, Carlisle and Tranmere in League 1. With Jervis failing to break into the Blues side, despite the fact that he was the only fit senior striker in December 2013, Lee Clark sold the youngster to Elazigspor of the Turkish Super League.

Via a short spell at previous club Portsmouth, Jervis now founds himself plying his trade at Ross County FC of the Scottish Premier League. He now goes into his second season at the club looking to prove his goal scoring abilities after a stop start first season where he made 30 appearances scoring 5 goals.

What’s next for the ex Blues academy graduate?
Was Lee Clark correct to sell him?
