“We will endeavour to do the very best we can in order that Birmingham City FC, a club with a fine history and passionate support, continues to build on the progress it has made”.

Wise words from Birmingham City`s new majority shareholder, Paul Suen. His company, Trillion Trophy Asia, are now the owners of our club. At last, a line can be drawn under the horrific Carson Yeung era.

Suen told bcfc.com- “I am delighted to have taken control of such an important and fantastic club. I am excited about the future that`s ahead of us and enthusiastic about our prospects”. We have not come in to make outlandish promises or to implement decisions that could cause upheaval to the detriment of the Club or team. I believe our acumen and the way we go about our business in a professional manner, allied to UK based Club Director Mr Panos Pavlakis and the Senior Management Team at St. Andrew’s, will be of benefit and hopefully will make our supporters proud.”

Suen is a publicity shy businessman. But today, the completion of TTA`s takeover marked the start of a new era. His words have been eagerly anticipated by everyone connected with the club, especially the long suffering fans who have remained loyal throughout the whole saga.

There didn`t appear to be a light at the end of the tunnel and the future seemed as bleak as the present. Talented young players were sold for a fraction of their true market value and the eventual decline in results saw Blues surviving a drop to the third tier by a hair`s breadth.

But now we look forward. With a new regime, a top young manager at the helm and a competitive squad, Blues have come out the other side.

We owe a lot to Panos Pavlakis. His determination and drive to do what’s right has put an end to a cancerous political situation at the club that showed no signs of ending. Because of that, we now start afresh.

Blues have kept right on. And always will do.

Welcome to our club, Mr Suen.
