It seems Birmingham’s transfer plans are pretty much on hold at the moment. There has been very little talk since the club missed out on both Bartosz Bialkowski and Lewis Grabban.

With just over two weeks to go before the start of the season, and the close of the transfer window coming just a few days after that on August 9th, it is quite concerning.

I’m hoping that Garry Monk and his staff have lined up potential signings if the situation with the EFL is resolved. A player I think we could consider is Blackburn’s Bradley Dack.

His 18 goals and 11 assists led to him being named League One’s Player of the Year, helping Rovers to promotion. With the lack of goals and creativity in our squad, I thought he could prove an excellent addition.

I decided to put my suggestion to a vote, and the vast majority of fans polled would like us to go after the 24-year-old:

Of course, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding transfers at the club, but if we can complete deals before deadline day, then perhaps this one is worth considering.

Do you think Dack is a realistic target? Let me know in the comments.

  • I can’t work out if monk and the board are concerned about it tbh and is that a good thing or bad ? Who knows is it right efl clubs can do loan deals after the 9th too ?

    • Damian yes clubs can still do loans up to 31st August. Although it’s no good to us if we still have a transfer embargo as the players wages are still classed as an outgoing. From what I’ve heard the club is working with the EFL to find a solution but with only 3 weeks left of this window we need to pull our fingers out.

  • This total fiasco is down to Ren not following up with the necessary paperwork required last May/June.Dress it up whichever way you want it-reality is we simply failed to do what the rest of the Championship clubs had to do and provide the necessary paperwork. Biggest concern as far as I am concerned is the safeguarding of our manager. Let’s hope he is fully aware of the situation and not worried by it.

  • Deck would be good ..and we want Gary Monk to take us to the top , to take us all the way on the glory trail . …the only factor now is will TTA take steps to to give us a platform to kick on . We have a squad of good players and they are young enough to improve as we go ..we do need around 3 more to give us and Gary the platform to really give them hell ..but this embargo needs to go ..the board need to stop counting their bad luck …and give us all the year of the hyena ..whereby we all can have a good laugh ….
