As we approach the end of the weekend before our bank holiday in a weeks time, there have been more transfer rumours doing the rounds about players being linked with Birmingham City Football Club.

With reports starting to circle on Friday and Saturday about two players who might be interesting Blues, there has also been an interesting development on the future of former Blues striker Wes Thomas.

The 29-year-old was one of six players released from the club at the end of the season with Gary Rowett no longer requiring his services and now it appears that the former Bournemouth man is attracting the interest from three League One clubs.

Play-off failures Walsall, recently relegated Charlton Athletic and steady eddies Gillingham are all thought to be monitoring Thomas’ situation with a return to club football coming for the well travelled striker immediately after his departure from St.Andrews.

Speaking of departures, the release of those six players has left Blues in a slightly vulnerable position so it is no wonder we are being linked with every free player under the sun as well as the one match-winner who is going to cost a little bit of money.

The latest reports have seen Charlton forward Tony Watt and Bolton Wanderers midfielder Liam Feeney linked with a move to B9, but it is thought that Blues would have to fight off stiff competition for both players if they wanted to get their men.

Feeney, 29, spent the last part of the 2015/16 season on loan at Ipswich Town and with Mick McCarthy believing that if there is a deal that can be done within the financial restrictions of the club, then both parties want it to happen so that move could be dead and buried before Blues have even given the lad a phonecall.

Rowett is also thought to be interested in the services of former Blackburn loanee Watt. The 22-year-old is under contract at the Valley until June 2018 so any move would have to see Blues dip into their tight budget, but his age might be a factor that is currently swinging Blues’ attentions because there is still plenty of development that can be done at the club.

For me, Watt would be somebody who I would be interested in seeing join the club because I think although he is young, he has a good pedigree and he has played nearly two seasons in the Sky Bet Championship already.

However, I would personally opt out of making a move for Feeney because I believe there are better players out there who are younger than him and who has a lot more to offer than him.

Blues fans, do you agree with what has been said? Would you prefer Blues to move for Tony Watt rather than Liam Feeney this summer? Let us know in the comment section down below!
