Birmingham City have today announced that 20-year-old winger Viv Solomon-Otabor has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with the club.

The deal follows an impressive season so far for Solomon-Otabor with the youngster making his debut for the club in a Capital One Cup fixture against Gillingham back in August.

He has since gone on to make 16 appearances in all competitions whilst starting three out of the last four matches.

His first league start came in late December when Blues defeated MK Dons 1-0 at St Andrews.

Solomon-Otabor already has a goal to his name as he added the fifth in a 5-2 win against Fulham earlier in the season with a quite brilliant solo run and finish.

With the recent sale of Demarai Gray to Leicester City, Solomon-Otabor is likely to find himself earning more minutes on the pitch which will only enhance his development.

His contract at the club was due to end in June 2016 and this new deal will now see Solomon-Otabor`s stay at St Andrews extend until the summer of 2019.

Birmingham City have also confirmed via Twitter that the new contract has no buyout clause in it.
