Blues travel to Ashton Gate on Sunday for an eagerly anticipated relegation showdown against Bristol City.

A win will guarantee Blues’ Championship status but anything less would see Blues relying on the outcome of the Blackburn and Forest games.

Permutations

For Blues to be relegated, both Forest and Blackburn must better their result. While a win guarantees Blues’ survival, they could also lose and stay up if one of Blackburn or Forest drops points.

The only way Blues can be relegated is if they fail to win and Blackburn and Forest BOTH win.

Vital Birmingham predictions

Here at Vital Birmingham, we are biting our nails. Our writers have made predictions on the outcome of Sunday’s games.

Rob
Bristol 2 Blues 1
Brentford 1 Blackburn 0
Forest 1 Ipswich 1

Tom:
Bristol 1 Blues 1
Brentford 3 Blackburn 0
Forest 2 Ipswich 0

Matt:
Bristol 1 Blues 1
Brentford 1 Blackburn 0
Forest 2 Ipswich 0

Luke:
Bristol 1 Blues 1
Brentford 2 Blackburn 0
Forest 1 Ipswich 0

If any of our writers are correct, Blues will stay up. All four writers have Blackburn down for a defeat, three have Forest to win and Blues to draw.

  • It is all too tense to call.Bluenoses,if like me,will be glad when it is all over. Since last weekend, the days have had a dull ache-just waiting for the relief of kick off. No matter how busy we all may have been-this week has been unpleasant .

  • We all know that 2011 onwards brought massive grief in the shape of Yeung and Pannu. Only last year towards October did things brighten up with TTA and of course GR. New start and stability ruled ok-then wallop in the figure of Zola. Since has been cruel and self inflicted but now in HR we have a real chance to get back on track. My inner self tells me we will survive but my fear is that if we don’t then oblivion is my vision for us.Without HR and his know how would be hard to swallow and then anger takes over -something I am sure Panos and TTA are well aware of.
