The club announced this morning that Wes Harding has been rewarded with a new contract to stay with the Blues.
Our no.45’s original deal was set to expire in 2020, but his new one means he will remain with us until 2022.
Fans on Twitter universally welcomed the news of Wes’s contract extension, and backed him as a future captain:
Very pleased with this!

Verdict:
The full-back is fully deserving of his new deal, no doubt about it. He was superb for the most part as Garry Monk utilised the 21-year-old at right-back for the last nine games of last season.
With Kristian Pedersen likely to be first choice on the left-hand side of defence, it means Harding will have to vie with Maxime Colin for a regular starting place next season.
Considering how he ended last campaign, I fully expect him to kick on, and make the position his own. The club have certainly backed him to succeed and now he will want to deliver on the pitch.
