It’s one of those things that keep getting better every time you see it.
I mentioned yesterday in the aftermath of the game that I was formalising a petition to make it a late entry for the FIFA Puskas Awards, and although I may have slightly been exaggerating for the sake of a joke, I do think that it is an early contender for Birmingham’s Goal Of The Season.
I’d imagine it’s similar to when you collect your GCSE results (congratulations to those of you who got yours today by the way), you’re so proud of what you did that you just want to share it with the world as often as you can and as soon as you can.
That’s exactly what Alvaro Gimenez decided to do when he posted a video of his goal against Barnsley on his Twitter page, with plenty of Birmingham fans taking the opportunity to congratulate him and use it as a sort of unofficial ‘welcome to the club’ moment.
And in a subtle hint to how he thinks his Blues career is going to go, he decided to title the video with the simple phrase ‘first’. I’d be careful Alvaro; we’re going to hold you to that.
Gets better every time you see it. ????
