Unwanted Birmingham Keeper Reveals He Could “See Out” His Contract At The Club

David Stockdale has revealed he has held discussions with Garry Monk after returning to pre-season training.

The manager has made it clear to the 32-year-old that he is not part of the club’s first team plans and the goalkeeper is now training with the team’s Under 23s until his future is resolved.

Our no.13 revealed that he is prepared to remain at the Blues if an agreement can’t be reached for him to leave St Andrew’s. He also accepts that any sale has to be in the best interests of all parties:

Stockdale also confirmed that he hasn’t “asked to leave” the club. Leeds were favourites to sign the keeper, but they haven’t returned to the table after having a loan offer rejected by the club.

The Yorkshire Evening Post report the Whites are keen to seal a deal for a new number one by the end of the week with Chelsea’s Jamal Blackman now the favourite.
