Birmingham City may be in the Championship at present, but there are plenty of nights that Blues can look back on with sheer delight from years past. Indeed, one such example came back in 2011, when the Blues found themselves in European competition, owing to their League Cup win.
A 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the 2011 League Cup final saw the Blues move into the Europa League at the play-off stage, and they managed to force their way through to the group stage of the competition.
There, they took part in a game that will live long in the memory of the Birmingham City faithful away at Club Brugge.
Twitter account ‘Away Days’ has recently paid tribute to the travelling support that night, with a whopping 8000 Birmingham fans travelling to Brussels to cheer their team on.
