Birmingham City duo Jacques Maghoma and Jonathan Spector have both received call ups from their international managers ahead of their respective games.

United States of America boss Jurgen Klinsmann has decided to add Spector to his squad after some much improved performances at club level.

The versatile Blues player, who can play at both centre back, right back and in central midfield, has cemented his place in the match day XI so far this season and his performances have won him several man of the match recognitions.

Spector’s last cap for his country came in their historic 1-0 win over Italy in Genoa back in February 2012.

The defender will be looking to add to his previous caps when the USA take on Peru in two days time and then Brazil on the 8th of September.

In addition to Spector being called up, summer signing Jacques Maghoma has also been handed the chance to impress on the international stage.

The former Sheffield Wednesday winger has been added to the Congo squad ahead of their African Cup of Nations qualifier against Central African Republic in Bangui.

News that the two stars have already left to meet up with their nations comes just days after it was announced that David Cotterill, Reece Brown and Demarai Gray would also be heading off for international duty.
