Paul Robinson tweeted from last night’s club awards ceremony simply stating that it’s “time to relax.”

The 39-year-old was reflecting on his decision to retire after six years of service to the club:

Fans responded to the message with their best wishes for the future:

Verdict:

Robbo has been a great servant for the club, and it was fantastic that he was given the chance to have a send-off in front of the fans against Fulham.

It was superb touch from Garry Monk to let the defender onto the field for the final moments on Sunday. The fact that we knew Championship survival had been secured by then made it all the sweeter.

There is a possibility that Paul could return in a coaching role sometime in the future. The manager confirmed after the game at the weekend that the club will explore ways for him to stay in a non-playing capacity in the “coming weeks.”
