Portsmouth defender Djimi Traore is hoping to join up with Birmingham City again within the next few weeks.

This time it would be a permanent deal, the player is to leave Fratton Park on a free transfer in the summer and has not been short of offers from clubs both abroad and in England.

But being on loan with the Blues has swung the player towards joining up again.
The 29-year-old revealed talks are taking place with the promoted Blues and he is optimistic a deal can be reached.

‘The discussions between my agent and the club are still going on and we are looking for the right deal,’ Traore told the Birmingham Mail.

‘Yes I’m keen to sign, I’ve had a few offers, but my main priority is just Birmingham.

‘Of course, I enjoyed playing for the club last season and I said to my agent to do everything he can to make sure that I join Birmingham.

‘Hopefully something will be completed over the next few weeks.’
